John Gozbekian strives to create a phenomenal experience for the consumer in each beverage he creates. For almost 40 years he has developed his love of coffee and tea- which began in a Harvard Square espresso bar in the 70’s- into a career as an admired and experienced roaster. John has been with Cult coffee Roasters for nine years.
The years prior to working with Cult were spent perfecting his skills as a roaster, with some years roasting up to 6 million pounds of coffee beans. Listening to the generations of those who have gone before him has allowed him to amass a wealth of knowledge that he still employs.
His travel to a multitude of both well known and remote coffee regions in the world have left him with a sense of gratitude he passes onto the community around him. John is proud to be part of an incredible populous of coffee professionals, and has been a part of the Global Specialty Coffee community and the SCAA for the better part of the last 30 years.
An impressive and lengthy set of titles exemplifies his expertise. He has been recently selected as a Certified SCAA Specialized Instructor, is a Golden Cup Certified Technician, a Roasters Guild and Barista Guild Member, “Q” Certified Grader, Coffee Corp Volunteer, A.C.E. Cup of Excellence Judge, SCAA Skills Building Lead Instructor and Station Instructor, and has volunteered at Barista Camp.
